Visiting Al-Nour Refugees Camp

Deir Al-Balah city,
where the Al-Namaa Refugee Camp is located. Here, displaced families,
who have fled the devastation of war,
eagerly awaited vegetable baskets that they hadn’t seen or tasted for a long time.

“O Allah, we forgot that there are still vegetables… we haven’t seen them in so long,” said an elderly woman as she received her vegetable basket. The volunteers from Bothour Association didn’t hesitate to deliver these small bags—much larger in significance to the Al-Namaa families—directly into the hands of each family head. There are 150 displaced families struggling to survive, teetering on the brink of death. Their hearts pray, “O Allah, relieve our distress and replace it with a better situation.”

good people.
There hasn’t been any support or
aid for us in months,
concluded an elderly man,
finishing
his speech with a satisfied smile
as he walked toward
his shelter, his grandchildren
happily running around him.
As you observe this scene, you realize the incredible strength of their spirits as they endure the pain of forced displacement that the Al-Namaa families face daily, all to keep their loved ones safe. But what is the fundamental belief that sustains their weakened bodies, which have lacked food for the last four months?
What encourages an innocent child in this conflict to play joyfully when healthy meals are scarce?
How does a mother wake up each morning to care for her family when she hasn’t eaten well herself?
Can you imagine a man searching for decent work to feed his children while saving a portion of his food for them?

It’s difficult not to feel helpless in the face of such humanity,
where people resort to extreme measures due to injustice.
Yet, deep down, we understand how valuable the souls of
the people in Gaza are and how beautiful their smiles can be.
They are now waiting for you to reach out through the humanitarian
efforts that the Bothour Association is building along the way.
